HOW IT WORKS

01

Browse with context

A small colored shield shows community risk. Click it to open the banner and details. In Settings, you can choose to show the full banner first; it collapses after five seconds.

02

Share your experience

Give a thumbs up, or report a problem with a category and explanation. A new review replaces your previous review for that website.

03

Read the evidence

See recent reviews, category scores and confidence based on review volume. Sites without reviews show as unknown.

INSTALLATION

Add community insight to your browser.

Install Community Web Watch, the WebPrevent extension, from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons.

Community reports need context.

WebPrevent is a community reputation tool. It does not scan websites for malware or guarantee safety. A green indicator means low community-reported risk; gray means there are no reviews. Installation-based identities do not prove that reviews come from distinct people.

Questions about WebPrevent

What is WebPrevent?

WebPrevent is a browser extension, listed as Community Web Watch, that lets visitors read and submit community reports about websites. It shows separate indicators for malware, fraud and scams.

Does WebPrevent scan or block websites?

No. WebPrevent displays community reputation. It does not scan for malware, block threats or guarantee safety, and it does not replace security software.

What do the shield colors mean?

Gray means there are no community reviews or the community data is unavailable. Green means low community-reported risk. Yellow, orange and red indicate progressively higher risk scores. Click the shield to see the details.

How are scores and confidence calculated?

Negative reports raise the risk score. Positive experiences have a smaller influence, and older evidence loses weight over time. Confidence is based on weighted review volume; it does not prove that reports are accurate or from distinct people.

Does a recognized website badge mean a site is safe?

No. Recognition comes from a curated list of established-service hostnames. It does not change the community score or certify safety. Unlisted subdomains and lookalike domains do not inherit recognition.

Which browsers are supported?

WebPrevent is available for desktop Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge through their respective extension stores.

Can I update or delete my reviews?

A new submission replaces your previous review for the same website from that installation. In extension Settings, Delete my community data removes that installation and its reviews from the selected server. Delete your data before uninstalling if you want your reviews removed.
